Eight Turn Crepe – NYC

Japanese Crepes at Eight Turn Crepe NYC

Who does not love crepes? It could be French, it could be Japanese, but the important thing is they are delicious and I love it. Ha!

Japanese crepes is a bit different than French crepe though. While French crepe is more simple (yet really really good – even the ones sold on the street near Eiffel Tower with only Nutella in it; ahh I would really want to go back to Paris just to eat them πŸ˜€ ), Japanese style crepe is more.. I don’t know how to say it, versatile maybe? Well, if you see the look of it, Japanese style crepe has more colourful toppings and it looks like ice cream on a cone but prettier πŸ˜€ I’m sorry I’m really bad at explaining it but I’m sure you guys understand what I mean. Lol.

One of the Japanese Crepe outlets I tried weeks ago called Eight Turn Crepe. It is located at 55 Spring st, New York and they have flying crepes inside glass domes as their window display, which I thought was cute πŸ™‚

Cute window display

That day, I tried one savoury crepe; the truffled egg white omelette ($ 8.50) that consisted of two organic egg whites, truffled mushrooms, truffle oil, baby spinach, tofu sauce, and cheddar cheese, and one sweet crepe; the NY blueberry cheesecake ($ 9.50) that consisted of fresh blueberries, blueberry reduction, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream cheese, whipped yogurt, custard cream, and pocky sticks.

All in all, I thought thatΒ both were delicious and yummy and worth coming back for obviously but, although I said so many times that I am a person with a-very-sweet-tooth, I gotta say that to me, the truffled egg white omelette definitely beat the NY blueberry cheesecake. The truffled egg was so fluffy, flavourful, yummy, and simply melt in your mouth. You have to try it if you come to Eight Turn Crepe. Like really, it is so good.

Having said that, I’m gonna have to go back there and try more of their menu because it’s just delicious and who knows, I might find the sweet crepes that beat the truffled egg white omelette hehehe..
