Who’s in for fresh pasta?
Tha Sosta, located at 186 Mott st, NY, is recently (well..about few months ago :p ) opened its door to all foodies here in New York City. And their specialty? Fresh pasta!!
I was really intrigue with this restaurant after watching how the pasta was freshly made on TV.
I mean, I love fresh pasta! Anything fresh is always better right?
So that day, right after I went to OMG Dessert Goals event in brooklyn (will post this event soon – apologies for the delay though 😀 ), I went directly to The Sosta.
When I saw the menu, I felt like trying all the pasta because they all seemed yummy (I know I’m such a pig, lol). But finally, I ordered:
Spaghetti Pomodoro – Tomato, garlic, basil ($10)
Spaghetti Pomodoro is definitely my favorite pasta. I have been searching for Spaghetti Pomodoro as good as the one I tried few years ago in Milan, Italy but so far no luck (well I guess if you want the best pasta you go to the place it was first founded 😀 😀 ). but I gotta say, The Sosta’s Spaghetti Pomodoro was delicious. Still not as good as the one in Milan though but delicious enough for my craving haha.
Gemelli Pesto – Basil, garlic, parmigiano-reggiano, pignoli nut ($12)
I love pesto so I had to try this.
For me, the taste was not as “bold” as I expected. But maybe, I just love pesto a little bit too much so I wanted to taste more of the pesto haha. I found the pasta still good and yummy though. Whilst, my husband thought this was super good. He loved this pasta more than the spaghetti and the zucca vodka. So I guess it goes back to everyone’s preference.
Zucca Vodka – tomato, caramelized onion, vodka, cream, basil, red pepper ($11) – and chicken meatballs on the side ($6)
Boom!!
For me, the Zucca Vodka was the winner of all the pasta I ordered. I loved the taste of the sauce and obviously the fresh pasta by itself tasted amazing (this goes to the spaghetti and gemelli pesto as well).
I will definitely order this when I come back here. It was so good. Loved it!! I couldn’t say more but it was just truly madly deeply delicious.
And oh,
The chicken meatballs were yummy and without question the best addition to the pasta.
Coffee latte ($4)
I don’t know if pasta were the best companion for coffee but I gotta say the pair of pasta and coffee I had that day were as good as it gets 🙂
That was all we had that day at The Sosta. Overall, we enjoyed everything we had and glad we stopped by.
The place though, uber cute!! The Sosta is order (and pay) first at the counter kind of restaurant but with that pink-ish and a bit of gold interior, it was definitely a good place to hang out with your friends and enjoy a damn good pasta (with a very good price)!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post 🙂
