Hello 2024! Hello everyone 🙂

First of all, I’d like to wish everyone a happy new year and great new beginning to a wonderful year ahead.
This is my first post after a very long time (getting rusty here haha). Ever since I had my second baby (about 5 years ago) I couldn’t really bring myself to write anything. Just couldn’t do it, no idea why, but a lot has happened since then and I kinda feel like writing again, and this is also new year so here we are.
For this year’s celebration, just like previous year(s), we had NYE dinner, went around NYC to enjoy the city we call our second home, and went home to have drinks until the ball dropped (this last part is after the kids went to bed of course – although this year our 10-year-old asked if he could stay up until 1am and we let him). Also, I really wish that the school could start probably on January 3rd or 4th. I know us parents are a little crazy when kids aren’t at school but if the holiday could last a little longer at least we could go out of town for New Year. lol.

Anyways, we had a lovely NYE dinner at Gigino Trattoria in Tribeca (323 Greenwich St). I had never been there but I checked their menu (this is a mom thing because we have to see if the kids could also enjoy the food) and I think it was pretty kid-approved so I made the reservation and everyone enjoyed the food;
From all the food we tried, the most yummy dish of the night was their NYE special menu which was Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare; their take was a little different because the sauce isn’t red but the taste was so good it took us back to our favorite pasta dish near the train station in Milan (I know it’s pretty random lol. but there is this old pasta restaurant near a train station in Milan that had – in our opinion – most delicious pasta. This dish really came close to the one we had in Milan so we were really happy about it.
Okay before I end this post, I would like to share an act of kindness someone did for me. Few months ago, I went to Peterpan Donuts in Brooklyn, NY. I did not know that this place only accept cash and I just went in and ordered stuff. I REALIZED the “cash only” right after I ordered and I only had 5 bucks with me. I started to panic a little and I told the lady I’m sorry I didn’t know you only accept cash and told her to just give me 2 donuts since I only had 5 bucks, and this guy next to me was like “oh no..its okay I got it” and he gave the cashier lady $10 (I was only $2.78 short though hehe). He was really nice and I said thank you so much a couple of times and got out from there. Whoever you are, again, I really appreciate it. Thank you so much!! During times like this when we see a lot of violence everywhere, this is actually refreshing. Guys this is 2024!! Please be kind, share kindness, and smile more!
Sending you lots of love and hugs 🙂
